If you're craving an authentic experience with a unique twist, this restaurant offers a mouth-watering selection of Chilean-inspired dishes, perfect for anyone looking to explore new flavors. The ambiance is laid-back, yet cozy, making it an ideal spot for both casual outings and special occasions.

The menu at Puro Chile is a true reflection of Chile’s diverse culinary heritage. From fresh seafood to hearty meat dishes, the restaurant presents a range of options that cater to various tastes and preferences. A standout is their famous empanadas, filled with succulent meats and vegetables, offering a perfect balance of flavors. Whether you're a fan of seafood or prefer something with a bit more heat, there’s something for everyone. Pairing these dishes with their carefully selected wines from Chile adds a whole new level to the experience. The wine list at Puro Chile isn’t just a collection; it’s a curated journey through the finest vineyards of Chile.

What truly sets Puro Chile apart is the authenticity of its flavors. The chefs at this Wellington gem use traditional Chilean techniques, giving each dish a distinct and unforgettable taste. Take the pastel de choclo for example: a cornbread casserole layered with ground meat, onions, olives, and hard-boiled eggs. This hearty dish is a true comfort food, and the flavors come alive with every bite. Additionally, the Ceviche served at Puro Chile is a must-try for anyone who enjoys seafood. Fresh fish marinated in citrus juices, accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a hint of chili, offers a refreshing burst of flavor that's as satisfying as it is invigorating.

If you're not familiar with Chilean cuisine, the staff at Puro Chile are always more than happy to guide you through the menu. Their friendly and knowledgeable service makes dining here an even more enjoyable experience. Whether you’re asking about which wine pairs best with your meal or seeking recommendations for a dish that’s a bit different from the usual, the team’s expertise ensures you’re in good hands.

For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert menu doesn’t disappoint. The tres leches cake is a heavenly choice, soaked in three different types of milk, making it rich, creamy, and utterly delicious. It’s the kind of dessert that lingers in your memory long after you’ve finished your meal. Another favorite is the Chilean alfajores, delicate shortbread cookies filled with caramel and dusted with powdered sugar. Perfect for rounding off your meal.

The location of Puro Chile also adds to its charm. Situated in the bustling area of Te Aro, it’s a convenient spot for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're out shopping or catching up with friends, it’s easy to stop by and enjoy a hearty meal. The Grand Arcade, with its historic charm, only enhances the experience, giving you a sense of Wellington's rich cultural tapestry as you dine.

Many of the positive reviews about Puro Chile highlight not just the quality of the food but also the atmosphere. The rustic yet contemporary decor adds to the overall welcoming vibe, making it feel like you’re dining in a piece of Chile itself.

If you're planning a visit, it’s worth noting that Puro Chile often gets quite busy, especially during peak hours. To ensure you get a spot, it’s a good idea to make a reservation ahead of time, particularly if you're visiting with a group. The restaurant’s popularity speaks to the quality and consistency of the dining experience they offer.

  • I am working on the same building and this is not only a very convenient place to go, but best stop for cheese scone and coffee! Yummy Prestigios and delish Empañadas. We went to try the WOP burger and it is a success! Rodrigo is lovely, always have a nice word! Well done

  • This place is great for chilean gastronomy! Highly recommended for those who'd like to taste a bit of Chile! The empanada's dough and filling both taste the same as in my old times in Chile, and the burger, aka "Barros Luco" in the country named in honour to an old president of Chile, was sooo good! The fries, absolutely fresh, crunchy and delicious! We were happy to find this place, after years living abroad! And the staff are happy to serve you! Very appreciated! Lo disfrutamos mucho

  • Do you like cheese on your hotdog? No, I mean, do you like cheese… on your hotdog. I don’t think you understand. Do. You. Like. CHHHEEEEEEESE. ON YOUR HOTDOG. If the answer is yes, then you need to experience the Brasileno Completos at Puro Chile. Bonus big chips.
